This 8th Information Multiplier's event was organised in Istanbul on the 14 and 15 of September 2017.
The objectives of the event are the following:
- To train IMs on how to manage H2020 projects: monitoring, reporting, reaching the results, exploiting the results, managing the risks, managing the resources, resolving conflicts, etc.
- To provide IMS with practical knowledge on project management: good practices.
- To enable IMS to provide support to their customers on project management and how to correctly resolve management related issues on the proposal stage.
Outline
The overall concept of the training is to provide IMs with practical knowledge on project management in H2020.
Session 1
During the 1st Session participants will be trained on Project Management Cycle in H2020 projects and Proposal Content from the perspective of Project Management. Since proposals should be written taking into account future project management, it will be demonstrated how project management issues should be reflected at the proposal stage (proposal content and Consortium Agreement) to mitigate the risk and avoid pitfalls at implementation phase. Roles of beneficiaries (setting the roles of coordinator, WP leader, Task Leader, Task/Activity contributor, Deliverable leader), role of the project manager in the Grant agreement preparation phase and content of the Consortium Agreement from the perspective of Project Management will be presented. Cases studies will be demonstrated and participants will provide their feedback how they would deal with specific challenges.
Session 2
During the 2nd Session will be dedicated to Good Practices in Managing FP Projects trainer and participants will share their knowledge about project management and practical examples of good practices will be presented, in particular: implementation plan, time management, data management, ethical issues. Keeping track record of the research progress undertaken, the results and any consequent changes of direction, monitoring time and budget utilisation, key delivery dates, reporting progress and outcomes, monitoring, reporting, reaching the results, resource management.
Session 3
3rd session will be dedicated to Good Practices in Managing FP Projects related to exploitation plan and exploitation of the project results, in particular: realistic, feasible and convincing exploitation plan, reaching project impacts, good practices in exploitation of project results, as well as managing the risks (how to identify risks? How to mitigate the risk?), resolution of conflicts (management of Human Resources in the consortium or project team), etc. will be covered
Session 4
During the 4th Session participants will be informed about Financial Management, Monitoring and Reporting, in particular: financial monitoring (monitoring tools), periodic and final reporting to EC (practical examples) will be covered. In addition to presentations covering topics of the session there will be interactive exercises.
