When you register your organisation and a PIC number is assigned to it, the EC has to verify your organisation through the legal documents it requests from you during the registration phase.
DECLARED Status
Before the organisation is validated its status is DECLARED, which means that you have provided the needed data but they are not yet verified by the EC. The data entered during first registration remain editable for the person having registered the organisation (the "self-registrant"), i.e. this person can update and/or correct data. The self-registrant is also in charge of uploading all documents required for the validation, via the 'document tab' of the beneficiary register.
As soon as all the data of your organisation are checked, it becomes a VALIDATED organisation and only the Legal Entity Appointed Representative (LEAR) and potential Account Administrators of the organisation are able to request a modification of the data to the Validation Services.
You can use your PIC if its status is declared to apply for a proposal. Make sure though that the data are correct and updates.
SLEEPING Status
A "Sleeping" status indicates that some data was given, but the contact person does not react on any demands from the validation team. E.g. not responding to mails from the EC validation team.
In this case you have to contact the Validation team to find out what was the problem. You can send a message to the Validation team through the systems, by selecting "Modify Organisation" [MO].
Other
VALIDATED: Organisation is checked and validated.
SUSPENDED: The legal entity is "frozen" because of an external reason (Bankruptcy, etc.)
DEPRECATED: In the case of LegalEntityUpdate Event, the receivers will also receive the event when duplication did occur. In this and in this case only, the validityType will be DEPRECATED and the masterPIC will be filled in.
