Introduction
This is the starting point of all material relevant to ISV4 - ICT - GERMANY. The 4th ISV to Germany will cover German institution in 3 cities: Kaiserslautern, Stuttgart and Munich. The visit will take place between Jan 27 and 31. The group will arrive in Frankfurt and drive to Kaiserslautern in order to visit DFKI, on Tuesday Jan 28. On Wednesday, Jan 29, the group will travel to Stuttgart where a visit to Fraunhofer IPA and Hahn-Schickard Institution, will take place.
After Stuttgart the group will be transferred to Munich (afternoon of Wed Jan 29) and they will visit Fraunhofer EMFT. The group will return to Turkey through Munich on Friday Jan 30.
Schedule
Day 1: Mon 27/1 - Travel to Germany
- Group travels from Turkey to Frankfurt.
- Transfer to Kaiserslautern
Day 2: Tue 28/1 - DFKI, Kaiserslautern
Focus: Innovative factory systems and Industry 4.0 (modular production, Edge/Fog computing, cloud computing and Industrial IoT)
- Study Visit to DFKI / Presentation of DFKI - German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, Innovative Factory Systems
- Short Presentations from TR participants
- Presentation of Successful Projects and Ideas
- Discussion on Cooperation Possibilities
- Walk through visit to the labs
- Transfer from Kaiserslautern to Stuttgart (approx. 3 hours)
Day 3: Wed 29/1 - Fraunhofer IPA, Hahn-Schickard Institution
Focus: Digital transformation in the context of Industry 4.0, energy storage systems, Smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence in automation, lightweight engineering and resource efficiency.

Competence Centre DigITools for Manufacturing / Presentation of Institution/lab - Short Presentations from TR Participants
- Presentation - Discussion on projects and Ideas
- Future Work Lab Tour
- Study Visit to Hahn-Schickard Institution (R&D in Microsystems Engineering)
- Transfer from Stuttgart to Munich (approx. 3 hours)
Day 4: Thu 30/1 - Fraunhofer EMFT
Focus: Circuits and Systems, Flex, Microsystems
- Study Visit to Fraunhofer Institute for Microsystems and Solid-State Technologies EMFT
- Introduction to FhG, International Business Development HQ
- Introduction TUBITAK (incl. BILGEM)
- Presentation of Fraunhofer EMFT (Circuits and Systems, Flex, Microsystems)
- Short Presentations from TR Participants
- Discussion on Cooperation Possibilities
- Dinner organised by Fraunhofer, EMFT
Day 5: Fri 31/1 - Return Trip
- Return to Turkey through Munich
