The Focus Group Training on Secure Societies was a 2-day workshop event focusing on H2020 Secure Societies calls. Below you can find the agenda of the event and all presentations given.

Section 1: Introduction and Familiarisation with the open and upcoming H2020 Secure Societies topics
- General Introduction on Horizon 2020
- Horizon 2020 Secure Societies Topics for 2019 and 2020
OBJECTIVE: Understand each of the Security call topics, (their challenge, scope, expected impact, type of actions and statistics of success based on previous related calls if applicable)
Familiarisation with Key Documents and Online Platforms for Horizon 2020 Secure Societies
Focus: Work Program, proposal template, Funding and tenders portal, PIC no, SEREN 4, SEREMA, etc )
FOCUS: Familiarise with key documents for preparing successful Security proposals under:
- BES
- DRS
- DS
- FCT
- CIP
- GM
- Familiarisation with Key Documents and Online Platforms for Horizon 2020 Secure Societies

Session 2: Understanding how to engage with key actors in H2020 Secure Societies
- Networking Activities in Horizon 2020
- How to network and be involved in competent consortia?
- Important Networking Events (info-days &brokerage events)
- European networks etc.
- How to prepare the documentation – (Workshop with hands on practice/interaction by participants)
- Pitch presentation
- Institution profile (in line with the relevant calls)
- E-mail for joining consortia
- Objective 1: Identify who are the key actors in successful Security winning project.
- Objective 2: Familiarise on how to approach key actors and join consortia as partners
Session 3: Understanding what makes a winning proposal under H2020 Secure Societies

What are the criteria for the evaluation ?
Objective: Familiarise with evaluation process, what evaluators are looking at first and how to impress them (tips and tricks) -
Mockup Evaluation Workshop
Participants will form three groups and each group will evaluate (first individually and then as a group) an extract of an actual proposal as follows-
1st Group: Excellence Section

Each group will present their evaluation form section and compare it with the actual ESR received
